The piano family is part of the larger music family.
Here are some stores in the Richmond area that I  recommend wholeheartedly as they are, simply said, nice and honest, which is what I expect as a customer.
This list will probably grow longer in the future. I decided to place them on my site, and they did not ask me to do so. It is just a way for me to let them know that I appreciated their service and for you to find good music businesses.
In my "Links" you will find the three major piano stores in Richmond, so I will not give their web sites here. The list is alphabetical, and I recommend all of those stores or people equally.

1. My first choice is a little music store situated in the West End, not far from Freeman High School, where you will find everything, from band instruments to piano music sheets, music lessons and band instrument repair or rent. I took trumpet lessons there for a while, and I can tell you that their service is 5 stars and the owner of the store, Eric is a very nice person to do business with. They are Harrison Music.
Address: 8980, Quioccasin Road. Richmond, VA 23229 (804) 740-2644

2. My second choice is another music store, situated in a totally different part of Richmond, more downtown on Broad Street. As the store in my first choice, it is a fabulous store to visit. You will also find everything dealing with band instruments. There is a big selection of piano music sheets and they sell electronic pianos, metronomes, even recording equipment. If you like krispy cream, it is almost across the road. John is a very nice and knowledgeable person who will help you find what would not be in the store. (Even though there is a huge choice).
Their name is: Music and Arts Center
4701, West Broad Street
Richmond, VA 23230

3. Have you ever thought of recording what you play on your piano as beautifully as if it was on a CD? Do you know how to place your mikes, what mikes to use, how to set the whole system?
One thing is sure, it is something that is demanding.
I know a professional sound engineer who can do that and much more, like recording any instrument or group of instruments with a singer or anything you can think of, with a quality that a world class artist could expect.
He lives in the Richmond area, is very affordable and he has one quality I think is disappearing in business: on top of being an expert in his field, he is honest and has integrity. He will treat you like a friend.
His name is David Victorine. When you visit his site, you will hear the best recordings you could hear on your computer. Personally, I did not know my sound card could play so beautifully!
Let me predict something: one day, this gentleman will be known across America for recording the albums of the best artists. I know it. As if it was not enough, the guy is also an excellent guitar teacher...

4. I chose to place a piano store in my friend's corner (even though it is already in "my favorite pianos" corner), as I have known their owner, Doug, for several years, and have a lot of respect for what he has done in Richmond. When I think of  RICHMOND PIANO, the word "beautiful" comes to my mind. This place is the most beautiful piano store you can imagine; here, in Richmond. They sell lots of brands, one I like particularly being SCHIMMEL. They are extremely competent, honest and friendly. They can sell you a great piano, rebuild your old piano, teach you how to play the piano, or simply give you great and honest advise. Just visit them and I know you will be surprised at how beautiful a store can be.
